Lindau, the Bodensee, Lake Constance

The guidebooks convinced me that we must visit this place. The lake is 40 miles long and 8 miles wide and divides Germany and Switzerland. 

So I thought we could get there in a few hours but didn't figure in the August traffic. It was a slow two lane road along the lake. 

It's also a complete cliche tourist tra full of crowds. 

Paddle boats, etc.
