Cluny

This place is so full of history. There was a church here as big and as powerful as Rome during the Middle Ages. But a lot of stuff happened, including the French Revolution, so they used the stones for other buildings.
We took a guided tour and climbed to the top of the tower.
An old Gothic church.
A building with many different styles of architecture.
A suddenly fabulous small lunch. Gazpacho and melon.
The National Stud. more horses!

France has 20 stud farms all around the country where they revise quality breeding for the country's horses. There's a fee but it didn't se to be exorbitant.
This is the abbey lit up at night.
The next day there was a market and a parade of horses.

A very charming place.
