Carcassonne

I took 6 years of French history while taking French. This place is sort of like their original Disneyland. There was a guy named Eugene Violette Le Duc who was given the job of restoring many of France's monuments right around 1850. He saved Notre Dame in Paris as well as Carcassonne.
It was hot but there were breezes. Ed says no more "national treasures."

This is Violette Le Duc.

When we arrived in Languedoc we arrived in the land of Occitane. These people had their own language and civilization but it was squashed by the power of Northern France.   Also there is great resentment  here because their wines cannot command the prices of the Burgundys and Bordeauxs.
