Seattle Public Library--Rem Koolhaas

Across the street from the library is this Henry Moore sculpture.

The library is 10 stories high and this is the view from the top.

On the inside you feel like you're in a geodesic dome.

The people who work here are very proud of the building. It was funded by Bill & Melinda Gates and the other guy who founded Microsoft.

The building was finished in 2006. It was designed by Rem Koolhaas who won the Pritzker Prize in 2000.

A water feature in front of the building.

We took the water taxi over from Alki Beach and saw this fireboat on the trip.

It takes 12 minutes to get from Alki Beach to downtown Seattle. For seniors the price is $3.00 round trip. Very slick.

It's very beautiful here.

On the way out to the Water Taxi.
