Queen Elizabeth Park & the Bloedel Climatron

This park is situated at the highest point in Vancouver.

Very beautiful grade changes.

Lots of gardeners keep this park manicured.

A very beautiful weeping birch.

This is a fountain and a More sculpture outside the climatron.

This is the same Bloedel family that funded that magnificent space on Bainbridge Island off the coast of Seattle. The climatron is full of beautiful flowers and birds.

This bird eats those blue flowers. He walked right up to us.

Apparently, this is the second largest climatron in the world. There is a big one in St. Louis, also.

A grey parrot.

A green parrot.

  1. Yesterday we used the bus passes (thank you!!) to visit the Climatron and park. We had lunch at Seasons, the restaurant in the park -- great food and wonderful view across the city. We met Rosie, the grey parrot,'s former owner. He talked to Rosie, who seemed to recognize the voice and moved closer to him, but did not respond to his entreaties. Rosie was probably miffed.
