A trip to Beacon, NY

There is an art museum in Beacon, NY called the "Dia". The word dia comes from the greek prefix meaning "through"; such as, dialogue, diagram, diatribe, etc. Dia is a large organization with museums and galleries all over the world. This museum in Beacon was originally a factory that made the boxes for Nabisco products. It has 240,000 square feet and they use if for very large installations of very modern stuff. Here are some shots of the place. We took the Hudson River trainup from NYC. I had seen another spider sculpture in front of the Gehry museum in Bilbao, Spain. Note the hornbeam allee. I don't know who the landscape architect was, but whoever it was was good.
