A Trip to Gloucester.....................
Lots of restaurants named after the latitude they lie in.
View from the deck of the restaurant. The Perfect Storm was filmed here.
They have a ferry that stops at 4 places around the harbor.
They have a little beach.
We took a tour of "Beauport," the Sleeper/McCann House. Sleeper is the name of the fellow who created the house. He is termed the first interior designer in the U.S. He was born to a wealthy Back Bay family around 1880 and chose to expand the family's summer house. He would add rooms whenever he was inspired by a new treasure he acquired. He had a builder who would add these rooms for him. That's why the roof line is so wild.
They have a nice museum which contains a lot of nautical paintings and beautiful local furniture.
This, of course, is the Gloucester Fisherman. Gorton's factory is here too. We could have bought softshell lobsters for $3.99 a pound.
