Things we did with Julia in Chicago

Julia playing on the park equipment near our apt.

We walk the dogs while Julia plays.

A stop at the lake on our walk.

At the Museum of Science & Industry.

Julia is only 5 and she was way too young for this museum.  I would say a child should be 10.

Dinner @ Taco Diablo in Evanston.  A great place!

The next day at the Children's Museum on Navy Pier.  Julia loved this place.

Walker and Julia searching for dinosaur bones.

Having lunch at Harry Carey's Restaurant on Navy Pier.

Walker and Julia come to visit/the game at Wrigley/my nephew comes to visit

Here they are!  Coming off the plane.

They arrived in the morning and then we went straight to the game.

Julia was afraid of the bear.

The Cardinals won the game.  We spent a lot of our lives in St. Louis.  Both my boys were born there, and they still root for the Cardinals.

This is my nephew, Tim.  He lives in Madison, WI and came down to root for the Cardinals.

These are his three kids:  Austin, Tatum and Rory.

We were very excited to have a chance to get to know everyone.  It has been over 5 years since we visited with these people.  Hopefully, it won't be that long for the next time.

A Trip to Wrigley Field to buy tickets

Big series; the St. Louis Cardinals are coming to town.  When this happens, the city is covered with Cardinal jerseys and one could wonder, is anyone left in St. Louis this weekend?

Ernie Banks, Mr. Cub.

These are the seats on top of an apt. building across the street.

A view on the way to the stadium from the El train.

Harry Carey has a very important place in Chicago history.

This "cub" is in front of one of the baseball clubs across the street.

A Walk Down N. Michigan Avenue (also known as The Magnificent Mile)

This is the Wrigley Building.  They keep it clean to remind you of a stick of white chewing gum.

This is a detail of the bas relief on the bridge in the picture above.

Across the street is the Chicago Tribune building which was inspired by a French gothic cathedral.

See how the Wrigley Building sits right on the Chicago River.

Just one of the many well-manicured plazas.  Still cold but not for long!

This is the water tower; one of two buildings to survive the Chicago fire in 1871.  Along this stretch of street are branches of every important high end store there is.  Also, Neiman Marcus, Saks, etc.  It's all right here!!!

This is Water Tower Place built by Donald Trump right next to the original tower.  This is a high rise shopping mall that is absolutely fabulous.  If you ever get a chance, stop at the food court on the Mezzanine for lunch.  Fabulous, I swear.

Walking into the Drake, another great hotel.

Approaching the restaurant in the Drake.

This is the Prudential Tower.  There is an observation deck on the 96th floor but they want about $35 a head to go up.  We are pondering spending the $$.

Chicago's Gay Pride Parade

Dycks on Bikes.

We only stayed for an hour.  The Governor, Mayor, Senator Durbin, etc. were there.
