A Day
I tried to make the title A Day of Churches but Blogger is acting up.
Although the churches are very old (like before 1000) they kept redecorating. This one done in the style of Michaelangelo's St. Peter's in Rome. And then a mosaic one across the piazza.
Lots of churches.

Cefalu
We went to Cefalu by train about 50 miles west of Palermo.
It's a beach town for the beautiful people.
So it's all about the food.
Fish soup.
And then there was another Norman Cathedral.
This one under renovation.

This is Monreale a suburb of Palermo
We came to see this church.
Also we ate lunch two days in a row at this place. Bar Santoro. It's at the top.
This guy is the head waiter. He runs the show.

Palermo
Teatro Massimo. Third largest opera house in Europe after Paris and Vienna.
Janet and Foxie in front. She could have gone on the tour if we had carried her.
This is Verdi.
