I don't know whose idea it was to go to Alcatraz, but, in any event, we booked the tickets and on a rainy morning here we were on the way with a boatload of people from all over the world. PR agents, you can do anything. Here is "the rock."

After we left Alcatraz, we had lunch on Pier 39 and observed the seals. They are definitely hanging out.
